Voter Registration Rate per Precinct

Combining the Registered voters per precinct data with census data of actual population per precinct. This could be helpful for any group trying to register voters, allowing them to focus on the areas with the least Registration density.

Livability Index for Rural Areas

Most sites (e.g. http://www.areavibes.com/) , studies and maps that I have seen around livability focus on urban environments. What makes a rural location livable? Can we measure it and map it?

Visualization tool for deserts

In general, a 'desert' is a region that is poor is some resource. When the MN geocommons is online, it will be a natural place to ask questions like where are the food deserts? the nursing home deserts? the job deserts? How many people live 'far' from a city park? Does the MN geocommons software need a standard widget for viewing the relationship of demographics, travel time and resources?
